Here is a fun children’s game for recognizing and naming shapes. This game can be played individually or as a partner game. The shapes covered are circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, rhombus (diamond), and star. There is a free printable at the end of the post which has two versions. You can choose either the diamond or the rhombus cards.
Click HERE for directions to use with the photo album pages. I purchased mine at the Dollar Tree. Here is a quick video clip of a sample game being played. I made this game using 3×5 cards. I marked the front side of the cards with a green marker to help with setting up the game. You will notice that one child calls the shape a diamond, and one calls it a rhombus. Both are acceptable.
